What is tikitna?
tikitna is a Jordanian platform for booking and selling event tickets in Amman and across Jordan — concerts, stand-up comedy, theatre, workshops and conferences. You book online, pick your seat on a hall map, pay securely online, and receive an e-ticket by email with a QR code to show at the door.
How do I book a ticket on tikitna?
Open the event page and hit "Get my tickets", pick your seat or table on the hall map (or choose a quantity if it's general admission), fill in your name, mobile number and email, and pay online. The whole thing takes under two minutes and needs no account.
Do I need an account to book?
No. You can book on tikitna as a guest with just your name, mobile number and email. An account is entirely optional — its only benefit is keeping all your tickets in one place, and you can add older bookings to it using their reference numbers.
How does my ticket reach me after payment?
The moment payment confirms, your ticket is emailed to you with its QR code. You can also open the ticket page online, download it as a PDF, or add it to your phone's calendar. Save the ticket page link — it takes you back to it any time.
My ticket email never arrived — what now?
First check your spam or Promotions folder — ticket emails sometimes land there. If it isn't there, go to the My tickets page and enter the mobile number you booked with, and we'll resend your tickets to the email on the booking. If it still doesn't arrive, write to hello@tikitna.com with your mobile number.
I lost my ticket — how do I get it back?
Go to the My tickets page on tikitna and enter the mobile number you booked with, and we'll email your tickets to the address on the booking. For security we never display tickets on screen — we only ever send them to that email.
Do I need to print my ticket, or is my phone enough?
Your phone is plenty. Open the ticket email or its page on tikitna and show the QR code to the scanner at the door. If you'd rather have paper, you can download the ticket as a PDF and print it — the scanner reads both exactly the same.
How can I pay?
You pay online at the moment of booking, on a secured page from an established payment provider. The methods available to you are listed on the booking page and on that payment page before you confirm — we don't promise one in advance, because which are switched on can change. The ticket follows immediately.
Is it safe to pay by card on tikitna?
Yes. Payment happens entirely on a secured page belonging to an established payment provider, and your card details never pass through tikitna's servers and are never stored by us. All we receive is the outcome — whether it went through or not.
Why does PayPal charge me in US dollars?
PayPal doesn't settle Jordanian dinars, so the amount is charged in US dollars at the dinar's pegged rate. The dollar figure is shown to you on screen before you confirm, and the ticket price in dinars doesn't change by a single fils.
What is the service fee and why is it added?
The service fee is tikitna's commission for running the platform — issuing the ticket, handling secure payment, and the scanner at the door. You see it as its own clearly labelled line on the booking page before you pay, added on top of the ticket price. There are no other fees that appear later.
What currency are prices in?
All prices on tikitna are shown in Jordanian dinars (JOD) and you pay in dinars. The one exception is PayPal, which charges in US dollars at the pegged rate — and shows you the figure before you confirm.
I have a discount code — where do I enter it?
On the booking page, under your ticket summary, there's a "Have a discount code?" field. Enter the code and hit Apply — the discount comes off the total immediately, before you pay. If the code has expired or isn't valid, a message tells you so.
How do I choose my seat?
If the event is seated, you see the hall map the organizer drew themselves and tap the seat or table you want. Taken seats show in grey so you can't pick one by mistake. If the event is general admission, you just choose how many tickets you want — no seat picking.
Can I book a whole table?
Yes, if the organizer has enabled it. On the hall map you can pick a single seat or book the whole table in one tap. Some tables are only sold whole — in that case the page tells you that you can't take a single seat from it.
How long is my seat held while I pay?
The moment you pick a seat we hold it for you, and a countdown on screen shows you how long is left. If you don't complete payment within that window, the seat goes back on sale automatically — and you can pick it again if it's still free.
Does the code really only scan once?
Yes. Every tikitna ticket admits one person, once. If someone tries the same code a second time, the scanner rejects it at the door. That's precisely what protects your own ticket from being screenshotted and reused.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Yes. From your ticket page, hit "Transfer this ticket" and enter their name (and their email if you'd like us to send it to them). The ticket moves to their name and the old code stops working immediately, so nobody else can use it. Transfers work only while the ticket is paid for, unused, and the event hasn't ended.
Can I get a refund?
The refund policy is set by the event organizer, not by tikitna. You can request a cancellation directly from your ticket page, and the organizer reviews it under their own policy. If they accept, they refund you and the seats go back on sale.
The event was cancelled or postponed — what happens to my ticket?
The organizer is responsible for staging the event and for handling any cancellation or postponement, and the refund policy remains theirs. tikitna gives you the channel: request a cancellation from your ticket page and it reaches them. If you don't hear back, write to hello@tikitna.com and we'll follow it up with you.
The event is sold out — what now?
Join the waiting list from the booking page with your name and email. If someone cancels or the organizer releases more tickets, we email you the moment they're available. Joining the list is free and needs no account.
Are there free events on tikitna?
Yes — some events are free to enter and are marked "Free entry". You still book a ticket so that you have a seat and an entry code at the door — you just don't pay anything. Organizers can also send complimentary invitations directly, and those reach you the same way.
Can I add the event to my calendar?
Yes. Your ticket page has an "Add to calendar" button that downloads a file which opens in Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar — saving the event time, your booking reference and your ticket link.
Which cities in Jordan does tikitna cover?
tikitna operates across Jordan, with most events currently in Amman. You can filter by city on the home page to see what's near you. And if you're running an event anywhere in Jordan, you can list it with us.
How do I list my own events on tikitna?
From the "List your events" page. Fill in your organization's details and you can sign in straight away to prepare your events and draw your hall as drafts. tikitna is a curated platform, so we review every application — and normally switch on publishing and selling within one working day.
What commission does tikitna charge organizers?
Listing and publishing events is completely free — you pay nothing until you sell. The commission depends on the type and size of your events, and it is agreed with you before you publish your first one — so nothing is ever deducted that you did not sign off on. Once you are live, it is shown clearly in your dashboard and in every sales report. There's no monthly subscription, no setup fee and no minimum. Does the door scanner work without internet?
Yes — and it's one of the main reasons tikitna was built. The scanner runs in any team member's phone browser with no app to install, and keeps working when the venue's internet drops. The queue keeps moving even if the connection dies at the worst possible moment.
